AMBERLEIGH STUD
Amberleigh Stud has provided New Zealand and overseas clients with top quality Hacks, Dressage and Show Ponies. We have achieved this by utilising top quality semen from Stallions from Australia and New Zealand.
We have now decided to only breed show ponies, but will always compete in the Hack classes and if neccessary will import one from Australia if one can not be found in New Zealand.
Amberleigh Stud is fortunate to have breed some top quality mares to which we are now breeding from. The quality of our breeding programme has been confirmed by them all receiving Multi Supreme Champion Awards In-Hand and Under Saddle from International Judges.
Our youngstock now on the ground have super temperaments, magnificent heads, and the most extravagant correct movement and conformation.

THE STUD
 
Amberleigh Stud is run on a 50 acre property of rolling hills out the back of Amberley in the suburb of Broomfield. Being 400 feet above sea level the stud has breathtaking views of the farms below and all the way out to sea. Being this high above sea level unfortunately also means alot of snow from time to time. The stud has 2 homes on the property, a large indoor stable complex that can house up to 10 horses at a time, indoor washing facilities, 2 tack storage rooms, Feed area, Hay Storage Bay, and full kitchen facilities. The Stable complex opens out onto a 70 x50 mtr all weather arena which has outdoor lighting and music. Amberleigh Stud has been the center piece for many stud tours and functions, most memoriable one being the NZ Riding Pony Societys 25th year celebration which attracted over 75 people and included a lunch and cake.
Amberleigh Stud has been the home to many champions over the years including Australian imports - Brahams, Seattle, Sugar & Spice, Private Collection, Willowcroft Spring Song, Newington Saintly, and Renissance, and homebred champions - Zilco Amberleigh Ascot, Zilco Amberleigh After Dark, Amberleigh Elite, Amberleigh Annalisa, French Roll, Amberleigh Resemblence, Zilco Amberleigh Gold Star, Zilco Amberleigh Gold Touch, Zilco Amberleigh High Hopes, Masterpiece, Amberleigh Royal Request, Silverbank Mace, Legend Heir Winter Sweet, Kipkeno, Taramira and the list goes on.
Currently at Amberleigh Stud we have 5 Show Horses and Ponies, 3 breeding Mares and 1 Gelding.
