SHOW TEAM

Amberleigh Stud shows as many Under Saddle and Inhand as possible each season. Once they are proven winners and the partnership between the rider/horse or pony is established they are only taken to the top shows. Our current show team detailed below all fit this category with the exception of our novice horses.

ZILCO AMBERLEIGH ASCOT

Jordan a Grey Gelding who has won multi Supreme Titles inhand and under saddle. He is a full brother to Grand Prix Dressage and Multi Supreme Show Hack "AMBERLEIGH ELITE" and Open Medium Dressage and Champion Show Hack "AMBERLEIGH ANNALISA". Jordan has massed a huge record of wins to date including 3 time Supreme Champion Hack at Canterbury Royal, Supreme All Breeds Titles, Supreme Paced and Mannered Titles, Equestrian Unity wins, taken riders to Champion Rider wins, Championship in led and Ridden Sport Horse and Warmblood classes . For the 2009/2010 show season Jordan has been out once winning the Supreme Hack Title at Ellesmere A & P Show .Rider Abby Thomas

ZILCO AMBERLEIGH AFTER DARK

Elvis is a Bay gelding and a half brother to multi Supreme Champion Show Hacks, Grand Prix and Open Medium Dressage Horses "ZILCO AMBERLEIGH ASCOT", "AMBERLEIGH ELITE", "AMBERLEIGH ANNALISA". Inhand and Under Saddle he has racked an outstanding profile of winnings including Supreme Hack Title at Canterbury Royal, Winner of the Rebecca Peters Memorial Class at the NZ Grand National Show, the Rising Star Park Hack of the Year at the NZ Horse of the Year Show in Hastings and numerous Supreme Champion Open titles around the South Island A & P Show circuit. Elvis is ridden by Jane Bailey who will continue to compete with him through this season with only two outings to date for 2009/2010 season winning Champion Hack at both.

Katie is a bay filly with an impressive show career to date winning NZ Grand National Titles inhand and under saddle, Winner of the Melville Black Memorial Class, NZRiding Pony Sash Classes and many Supreme Titles under saddle This very elegant big moving pony will continue competing under Saddle this season with rider Dylan Simpson-Mabey who in two outings in the 2009/2010 season have been award Supreme Pony at both.

Zilco Amberleigh Gold Touch

Sire: Pendley Gold Cup (Aust) Dam: Taratanui Muirlea Rise
Jayne, a 2 year old bay filly, is one of the newest member to the Amberleigh Stud show team and has only competed once in January 2008 at the NZ Grand National Show to take out the NZ Grand National Led Registered Pony, beating her 3 year old full sister "ZILCO AMBERLEIGH GOLD STAR" At the recent 2008 Canterbury Royal Show Jayne was awarded the Supreme Inhand Pony award and at the 2009 NZ Grand National Show won the Led Pony and Led Registered Pony Titles, and was 4th in the NZ Horse of the Year Inhand Pony title 2009.

Zilco Amberleigh Primadonna

Newest member of the 2009/2010 show team is Abby. Reserve Champion 2 year old at the Canterbury Royal 2009 (first time out)

Zilco Amberleigh Elite

SIRE: Anamour (imp Germany ) DAM: Bedlham (TB/HANOVERIAN)
9 year old Grey Mare. Numerous winner of Supreme Hack and NZ Grand National Champion Hack titles Inhand and Under Saddle. Elle has now retired from the show ring and is competing successfully in Dressage with top Dressage Rider Sally Field-Dodgson. Elle won the 2005 NZ Grand National Champion Elementary Dressage Horse and the 2006 NZ Grand National Champion Medium Dressage Horse and is now competing in Advanced level winner the Advanced title and Advanced Musical Title at the 2008 NZ Grand National Show.

AMBERLEIGH RESEMBLENCE

Sire: Glencree Victoree Dam: Renissance (imp Aust)
Jamie is a Multi Supreme Champion Park Hack under saddle and inhand.
Jamie has been taken out of retirement and competing with Amanda and Sarah Lee having not lost any of his chrisma already winning Supreme Hack titles again. Recent wins the Senior Nydfa at the 2008 Canterbury Royal Show, Supreme Hack at Temuka/Geraldine A & P, Supreme Hack at the Mayfield A & P Show and Champion Park Hack at the Methven A & P Show with Sarah Lee.

Amberleigh Remembrance

SIRE: Glencree Victoree DAM: Renaissance (imp Aust)
3 year old Chestnut Gelding. Mickey is a full brother to Multi Supreme Champion Park Hack "Amberleigh Resemblence". Amberleigh Stud is in partnership with Emma Rowe-Pledger with Mickey. We look forward to seeing Mickey in the show ring as we believe he has a big future ahead of him. Mickey started his show career at the recent NZ Grand National Show being runner up to Amberleigh After Dark in the Led Hacks.

RIDER PROFILES

Jane Bailey has had many wins in Rider classes and Champion Riders and has ridden many of the horses and ponies at Amberleigh Stud to Champion and Supreme Awards. Jane works full time at Amberleigh Stud schooling and break in the horses and ponies we have breed. At present Jane is competing on Zilco Amberleigh After Dark.

Abby Thomas Abby is in her 5th season riding for Amberleigh Stud having ridden ponies such as Amberleigh Royal Request, Zilco Amberleigh High Hopes, and Zilco Willowcroft Spring Song to many Supreme pony titles. Abby has also won many Rider classes and Champion Rider Awards and was placed 6th at the 2009 NZ Horse of the Year Show in the Intermediate Rider title and 3rd in the Intermediate Rider title at the 2009 NZ Grand National Show. Abby will be aboard Zilco Amberleigh Ascot next show season

Dylan Simpson-Mabey
Dylan has been riding since the age of 3 and is now 11 and has had great success in the 12.2 pony ring. He is an extremely talented rider and one to watch out for in the future. Dylan will be riding Zilco Amberleigh Gold Star
